Happy Fall everyone! I finally had some time to get this out of my head and made into a printable. This design is one of eight in a new old style Halloween pantry set, number 127 in my shop. The links are here on my blog. It is wonderful for fall kitchen decor or make smaller bags for treats for special friends. Directions for printing and making the sack are not included but there are a multitude of posts on Pinterest about printing on muslin. I use the freezer paper method. It is not for the faint of heart and I recommend using a spare printer if you have one. I use a thin well pressed muslin that has been pre-dyed. There is a copy of the print in the set without the 'old paper' colouring and you'll want to use that one. That is why it's important to already have your fabric a darker shade. You cannot dye it or add a water based stain after it is printed as the ink will run. I got a spritz of water on my 'O' and it ran. Yikes. Basic sewing skills are all that ......

If you love to crochet and love Halloween you too  need a Halloween lap blanket. I used this wonderful pattern that I found on trusty Pinterest. It is a pattern that  is easy enough for a beginner crochet queen and you can work the stripes in any way you choose. Bonita gives it two thumbs up. I hope you were sitting down... it has been a while since I've dusted off the keyboard for a post. Halloween has me inspired, as always. I'm thinking this may be my most favourite mantle of all. Plain and simple. We started with a well aged window, appropriately dusty. I can't believe it is November already. E ven with all this snow  the first day of winter is still more than a month away -- it is technically still fall. Hmmm.  One of my favourite treasures is the Sunbeam Mixmaster that sits on my kitchen counter. It belonged to my dad's maternal grandparents. (We grew up baking with a chrome Sunbeam and I still think it mixed much better than my fancy mixer does today.) I love its yellowed bits and chipped metal. My grandmother gave this mixer to my great grandparents on their 50th wedding anniversary on February 21st, 1956. Another of my very favourite things are old family photos and the stories that go with them. Last fall we were disappointed when we couldn't find any Baby Boo pumpkins for our fall and Halloweenie decor. So we did what every baby white pumpkin loving person would do. We bought seeds.  We were first time pumpkin planters and we had big plans for our harvest...  ... of millions. I planted 10 seedlings in the oak half barrel next to the Lavatera. They grew beautifully, had oodles of flowers... and nothing else. A little post-planting research told me they wouldn't bear fruit in a container. They needed lots of room to spread their prickly stems and tendrils. Oops. There went our dreams of little white pumpkins everywhere this fall. Lucky for us I accidentally planted one seedling in the front flower bed thinking I was planting a Lavatera. They look quite similar when small. Well, this pumpkin went crazy out there growing across the lawn and pushing around the perennials and annuals. The frost took it......
